about

There’s no slowing a project that took off with such an emphatic sonic offering as D*Minds’ Foundation EP and stage takeovers in the UK’s best nightclubs. RUN in the Jungle continues on its exploration into the early days of Drum & Bass and Jungle with the Zion EP, signing up Bladerunner for this section of the journey to provide new routes of bass-heavy and break-filled riddims.

D*Minds are in control of the first and title track ‘Zion’, representing a darker side of Jungle with epic minor-synths and cutting basslines that will be no stranger to the weightiest of soundsystems. The build-up sets the tone of the track with heavy anticipation, an eerie feel that keeps you guessing - only one thing is certain, D*Minds will shock you with a powerful explosion of jungle-infused DNB weight.

The aptly-named ‘Destination Jungle’ marks Bladerunner’s first involvement on the label side of RUN in the Jungle. A break-rich heater that doesn’t shy away from colossal basslines, intricately bridging a balance between new and old-skool junglist flavours with that unmistakable Bladerunner zest. There’s no better way to solidify that sonic verification that we’re well on our way through the world of jungle music, with each release showcasing its heavyweight depths and high-altitude peaks.

Bladerunner is a regular feature at RUN events and a collab with D*Minds on the label has been a long time coming - what better way than to put the finishing touch on the EP, coming together for the final tune. ’Deep Inside’ represents a fine-tuned synergy in sound between the roller King and RUN label bosses that draws inspiration from the pioneering sound of DNB blended with an influential dose of modern-day rollers. Make no mistake that the ominous intro only emphasis that sudden gut-rumbling drop, the track title speaks no lies where that bassline hits!
